Asked about the conflicting reports on whether there may or may not have been additional shooting, Dunst said she had not done any more shooting since filming wrapped. "I haven't yet no, but I think there are some blue screen things. Nothing major."

Mary Jane Watson will be joined by Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard) in the sequel who rivals her for Peter Parker's affections. Dunst said there was no competition on the set between the two, however.

"It's so funny. Everyone asks me that like it's a competitive thing, but Bryce and I got along better than anybody," she explained. "I was happy to have another girl to share all of that testosterone with. It was nice to come to set and have a girl to hang out with. Her character adds another type of woman that puts Peter in a position obviously with conflict with me and lying and this and all of those things just create more drama in our relationships."

She added that it was nice to have a year in between shooting Spidey 2 and 3.

"It was nice to have that year because I was really excited to go back to work again. I love working with Sam and coming back to a place where you know everybody which is a good thing because you're confident. You're not afraid to give your opinions on anything like lighting or whatever it is. You're there with your team again. It's a long movie so when you start doing the blue screen things and you're just lying there and reacting to all of these things and these long takes, you feel like you're losing your mind. But, when it comes to the scenes and Sam it's all about that for him. That doesn't feel like I'm making anything less important than this film."

C'est si drôle. Chacun me demande si c'était une compétition, mais avec Bryce et je me suis mieux entendu que avec quelqu'un d'autre " elle a expliqué. " J'étais heureuse d'avoir une autre fille avec moi sur la plateau pour partager toute cette testostérone .

Il était agréable de venir sur le tournage et avoir une autre fille pour traîner. Son caractère ajoute un autre type de femme qui met Peter dans une position inconfortable avec le conflit avec moi et cela et toutes ces choses créent juste plus de drame dans nos rapports

Elle a ajouté qu'il était agréable d'avoir une année de tournage au milieu de Spidey 2 et 3.

"Il était agréable d'avoir cette année parce que j'ai été vraiment enthousiasmé de retourner travailler de nouveau. J'aime travailler avec Sam et revenir à une place où vous connaissez chacun , ce qui est une bonne chose parce que vous êtes confiants."

"Vous n'avez pas peur de donner vos avis sur quoi que ce soit comme l'éclairage ou autre chose . Vous êtes là avec votre équipe de nouveau."

C'est un si long film , quand vous commencez à faire les choses devant les écrans bleus et vous mentez juste là et réagissez à toutes ces choses , vous ressemblez, vous perdez votre esprit. Mais, quand il vient aux scènes et Sam il est tout de cela pour lui.

Cela ne me ressemble pas, je fais quoi que ce soit d'autre de moins important que ce film.

October 2, 2006 - Kirsten Dunst, star of the forthcoming sequel Spider-Man 3, told IGN that principal photography on the film has finished, but that she will return to the production in November for additional special effects shots. "We're done," Dunst said during a press conference for her new film Marie Antoinette. "I have some more blue-screen things to do. There's always additional special effects things that are tweaked, but I have a little bit more to do in November."



Dunst, who plays Mary-Jane Watson in the Spidey films, also noted that the third installment of the series will be very big. "I think it's going to be a real huge [movie] - just so many characters and villains and everything. It's a lot. I think I'm going to be surprised when I see the movie."

When asked whether she would return for a fourth outing, Dunst replied, "I wouldn't do it without Sam. He's the heart of the films." She also said that Raimi's vision is ultimately what unifies the franchise. "He makes that movie unique and so special, and he has such a passion for Spider-Man and he has children. He feels that responsibility to his audience. He's our glue, you know?"

With the planned evildoings of Venom, Sandman and the Green Goblin, it would seem Peter Parker has his hands full in next summer's "Spider-Man 3." But while series veteran Kirsten Dunst promised plenty of baddies in the next flick, she said the film puts just as much emphasis on the darker side of romance. "We do have a lot more villains in this one, but when it comes down to it, the 'Spider-Man' story is the love triangle between me, Peter [and] Harry," said Dunst, who prefers the tender acting moments of the franchise to the breathtaking stunts. "I think that's always been the thread of all of the 'Spider-Man' films, and in terms of that, because we are older, the relationships have gotten more complicated [in the next film]. I think it's going to be a darker turn for Peter Parker as he deals with these relationships and how that comes out into his life, how being a superhero is affecting him in a dark way." Dunst also said she's part of the flick's ongoing reshoots, for which she's spent most of her time in front of a blue screen. "You could do blue screen until you are blue in the face," she laughed. ...
